Since its inception in 2010, the Setouchi International Art Festival has become a major international contemporary art event, attracting renowned artists from around the world. To commemorate the 31st anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Shaanxi Province and Kagawa Prefecture, the “Silk Road Blossoms, Encountering Shaanxi” Organizing Committee, as an officially authorized executive committee unit of the Setouchi International Art Festival, successfully held its first “New Year’s Art Bridge, Painting the Seto Dream Together” sharing session on February 15, 2025, in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. This event aimed to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two regions through the bridge of art, and to jointly promote the Setouchi International Art Festival and the rich tourism resources of Kagawa Prefecture.
Through this sharing session, the organizing committee not only successfully promoted the Setouchi International Art Festival and Kagawa Prefecture’s tourism resources, but also built a platform for cultural exchange and cooperation between the two regions. The atmosphere at the event was lively, and the artists’ wonderful creations and sharing provided the audience with a more direct and in-depth understanding of the Seto Inland Sea and Kagawa Prefecture. At the same time, the event also attracted considerable media attention, creating a positive public opinion environment for cultural exchange and cooperation between the two regions. Following the sharing session, six artists and guests will depart in early May to visit the Setouchi International Art Festival in the Seto Inland Sea.
